After college I went to work managing service stations for Tesoro Petroleum. I left them in 1978 to manage service stations for the U.S. Navy Exchange system and Service Departments on several Navy bases. In 1986 I tried my hand at running my own business when I purchased a service station in Bowie Maryland. In 1988 I attended Lincoln Technical Institute and started an on again/off again career as an Automotive Technician with a couple of years teaching at Lincoln Tech. After we moved to Dayton Ohio in 1990 I worked for a mobile Automotive Inspection Service, Auto Critic, a local auto repair shop and a Precision Tune store. In 1995 I returned to college to pursue a degree in Accounting. In 1998 I went to work for Kentner Sellers Accounting as a CPA and Tax Specialist. in 2000 Martha and I started investing in rental real estate and taking on rehab projects. By 2005 we had gotten experienced enough in rentals and rehabs to try our hand at managing for other investors. We completed our real estate licensing education in 2006 and went to work at a local ReMax office as the property management department. Within a year we were managing over 200 properties and the ReMax office had changed names to Exit Realty Partners. Then, the real estate crash happened. Our business took off as demand for rentals increased and sales decreased. After 11 years working for our Broker I took the Broker's exam and went into business myself. With a small staff of agents we continued to grow our business. In January of 2021 I started to work my way into retirement. By April 2021 we had bought a house in Little Rock and started to plan our move and my retirement from working. After being retired for 6 months I took my Broker's exam in Arkansas and am planning on opening a Property Management office here. Retirement was too boring, I need some excitement!
